Court In Cincinnati Moves to Protect The Privacy Of Social Security Claimants

The United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, located in Cincinnati, issued general order 22-01 on January 12, 2022 pertaining to the privacy of those named in any Social Security opinions issued by the Court.

Following the Committee on Court Administration and Case Management of the Judicial Conference of the United States, the U.S. District Court has ordered that in all Social Security cases the person seeking to claim the Social Security benefit, win or lose, must be identified only by their first name and the initial of their last name.  Full names will no longer be used in “any opinion, order, judgment, or other disposition” in Social Security cases in Southern Ohio.
